R U a Hypocrite

R U a Hypocrite? That was recently asked of me. First, I was slightly ticked-off...then -- calmness. Maybe because the speaker had a position of earthly authority over me (yes, in addition to God, humans do hold power over us).

Although the situational meeting was one of tension and career-killer stress, my mood and reflection ranged from annoyance to a slight humourous chuckle. Yes again, the speaker had a position of power, yet moreover, she had a point. I was a hypocrite. Armed with this newest revelation, allow me to ask you...

R U a Hypocrite?
Rephrase -- now that I have your attention. U R a Hypocrite!

Wait...don't run away -- yet. Let's talk a bit longer.

U R a Hypocrite IF You:

1. Speak one thing -- Act another.
2. Behave one way -- Speak another.
3. Tell Others (as did I...) to (see #s 1 & 2 above).

I'm Guilt as Charged

Now that I've been indicted, convicted, and remanded to jail, it's time to enter the punishment phases.

Mister Publisher (that would be me), you are to always speak the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You will no longer feed your audience distortions, half-truths, and pie-in-the-sky advice. Your words will continue to encourage yet will be tempered with healthy doses of realism and pragmatism.

Talking about a Party-Pooper...but alas, it is what it is (as my dad always said). Bummer, I never saw myself as a hypocrite, yet I am accepting judgment.

Well that's my story for now...gotta go clean my closet (=8
