Are you using LinkedIn-dotcom to power your career search for a new job? No...Shame on you! You could be missing out on the Internet's Most Powerful networking tool since the invention of free bartendered drinks sponsored by a Chamber of Commerce social mixer.
I Use LinkedIn-dotcom...period. Why? 3 reasons:
My LinkedIn-resume is a work-in-progress. It gets updated more regularly than Michael Jordan changes his Nike shoes. Another plus is that my Twitter feeds are automatically posted into my LinkedIn-Page.
Ok, so you have a LinkedIn_account. Question is: Do You Use and Interact with it? I once heard Performance Guru, Brian Tracy say that "in order to build a fire, you must first gather wood." In other words, use LinkedIn to dig your well before you're thirsty.
Before I share my LinkedIn-resume profile with you, let me also address the entrepreneurial aspects of LinkedIn-dotcom [the money-making part].
Do you want to promote your professional skills sets, your product or service, or perhaps your organization? LinkedIn-dotcom is the place to do just that. My circle is less than 300 or so, but I intentionally keep it small. I prefer real intimacy and interaction with my LinkedIn professional network.
Oh, and one last thing (lest I forget}. Participate in the group discussion(s). As you move forward, perhaps you will want to create a discussion.
My LinkedIn-Profile: Andre V Milteer, M.A.

Experience: Certified SBI Instructor at SiteSell, February 2010 - Present (1 year 11 months).
SiteSell offers local educational groups (colleges & schools) the chance to build real money-making websites via the < href="http://videotour.sitesell.com/Andre20.html">Solo Build It (SBI) "internet business in a box."
Anyone can put up a website, yet 95% will fail due to low visitor traffic. SBI works! My site, www.eResumes4Vips.com is only 1 of 30,000 SBI sites with the Alexa top 3%. I believe in SBI because it works.
The key to Internet success is the C-T-P-M business model. Hence, I am proud to be one of their certified local instructors.
