Do y'all CRINGE when you see the phrase, on a website, Subscribe to eZine...? I know, I do. Further, I often wonder, Why in the heck would I want to do that.
This type of thinking, is motivated by F.E.A.R.; acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. It's Universal! We are 'thinking creatures' that Think from a platform of F.E.A.R.
Some example of F.E.A.R., as applicable to eZines and newsletter subscriptions are:
1)What (F.E.A.R.) will happen once the eZine/Newsletter gets my email address?
2)What about (F.E.A.R.) the time wasted reading another (useless) eZine?
3)eZine! Somebody is simply trying to SELL me (F.E.A.R.) something I don't need.
Agreed, the vast majority of eZine content is useless and regurgitated dribble. Yet, as with mining for gold...one has to dig through a LOT of dirt before finding the golden treasure.
While recognizing my own aversion to (F.E.A.R.) subscribing to eZines/Newsletters, I remain determined to uncover those 'nuggetts-of-truth.' Further, if I can find but one tiny morsel of information that carries me further up my path of success/career/love/relationship/wealth/etc., then the effort is well worth it.
Bottom-line: Subscribe to Free eZines and Newsletters. Don't like the content or message, then Unsubscribe. As it goes with a best-seller book title, "Feel the (F.E.A.R.), and Do It Anyway!
